We cordially invite you to join us on an atmospheric journey, where we discover the wonderful match of curtain and fashion through the eyes of Christy Wong – the founder and Art Director of BAAGUS.
Twelve unique sets of surprises will be unveiled every Tuesday, where Christy reveals her tremendous self-designed curtains with unique pairings and the distinctive home aesthetic value each of them brings.
The fourth chapter of the BAAGUS Dance with Curtain series reveals the mystical veil of “Thousand and One Nights Waltz” – dreamy, and volatile. The curtain’s swirling passage evokes your wildest imagination, forming yourself into whatever you wish to be.
“Art feeds my soul in so many ways. I cannot imagine how dull life would be if I no longer possess the ability to admire the beauty.”
It all seems so natural to Christy that inspirations often occur instinctively, almost without intention, every single design she produces is a brilliant piece of art.
Yet, we all know that all her work culminated from many years of observations prompted by immense curiosity that have planted many notions into Christy’s mind. Be it an eventful affair or an interesting encounter, she embraced all thoughts that came along with it, which in turn drifts into her work inspirations effortlessly whenever required. Not only that, her natural habit of thinking out of the box and viewing things from different perspectives, too, have definitely contributed to the distinctive designs and surprises that she constantly brings forth to the ever-changing industry.
If you have ever questioned the existence of curtains as an ordinary accessory, or doubt the potential of curtains beyond their conventional presence. We welcome you to discover and understand Christy’s perspectives through the fourth chapter of BAAGUS Dance with Curtain series – “Thousand and One Nights Waltz”.
The “Thousand and One Nights Waltz” originates from Johann Strauss II‘s legendary “Indigo and the Forty Thieves”. It is mystical and dreamy, yet robust and full of energy. Placing you in the middle of a spectacular party, while having its swirling passage evoking your wildest imagination, and unleashing rigorous senses and characters of any whimsical mind.
This set of curtains reveals a graceful blend of black and white, calmer than white, trendier than black, blossoming into GREY. When matched with a classic black sheer drape, this stylish grey turns its surrounding into a magnificent mystic space. The straight floor-length drapes add an air of formality to where it hangs, at the same time singing a little frisky vibe when light hits the grids on its shiny surface. It transforms you to where you ought to be and what you urge to experience.
Well, who doesn’t enjoy the freedom brought by all imaginations?
Putting you in the moment of travelling the world and savouring flavours of every kind, next you wake up as a billionaire, cruising on Aladdin’s magic carpet in seek of exciting adventures, or relishing all attentions as you move on the dance floor…
While these wild imaginations may have popped onto your mind after a day of productive work, or exist in between the jokes and laughs among your friends… they are the sparks that light up the plain dullness which fuels you with the courage and anticipation to keep moving forward.
It is with such realization that one comes to appreciate the space and freedom to let loose and express themselves.
The “Thousand and One Nights Waltz” piece was created with the exact intention to set you free after a day of hustle. Having it as a complement to your cozy gathering at home, or an entertainment space that sparks joy and happiness – we leave it for you to decide.
In this space, you are free to become whoever and whatever you want to be.
With that, stay tuned to next Tuesday for the fifth chapter of BAAGUS Dance with Curtain series. We hope to see you then.
